And people laughed that we had a weak group. We play like clogs! How are the Polish fans reacting to losing to the Czech Republic?

Qualifying Group E for the 2024 European Championship offered a match between the Czech Republic and Poland on Friday 25 March. And it was the Czech national team that clearly managed the match better and won deservedly 3:1. However, the visiting fans are not taking it very well.
Compared to the Polish team, the Czech national team managed to win its first match in the Euro 2024 qualification and beat Poland 3:1. Fernando Santos’ team scored twice in the first three minutes.
The Czechs took the lead in the first minute. Vladimír Coufal found Ladislav Krejčí with a long ball, who headed into the net. A minute later, David Jurásek fed the ball to Tomáš Čvančar, who had an easy job.
The Poles created quite a few chances in the rest of the match, but couldn’t convert any of them into goals. Jiří Pavlenka saved Piotr Zieliński’s effort in the 20th minute, and in the 41st minute he saved Karol Linetty’s long-range effort.
Robert Lewandowski, the star of the Polish national team, also scored in the second half. However, Pavlenko could not beat him either.
It was not until the 87th minute that Damian Szymański came through in an unclear situation, but he only reduced the score to 1:3. In the 64th minute, Kuchta scored the third Czech goal after an assist from Alex Kral.
So how does the Group E table look after Friday’s matches? After the loss to the Czech Republic, the Polish national team is in fifth place, and on Monday they will face Albania, who will play their first match in the Euro 2024 qualification.
Moldova drew 1-1 with Faroe Islands in the other match, leaving both teams in third and second place with one point respectively. The Czech Republic leads Group E with three points.
Reaction of Polish fans
It is therefore understandable that despite the relatively strong line-up that coach Santos sent to play the Czech Republic, the Polish fans are not satisfied with the 1:3 result. A few comments have surfaced under the attached twitter post below.
The above comments speak about the fact that everyone in Poland was simply counting on something else. Better said, the Polish national team will pass the group relatively easily. “And people laughed that we have a weak group in the Euro qualification. Just look.”
According to other comments and individual posts by Polish fans on Twitter, Linetty was reportedly the only one who actually wanted to play football against the Czech Republic. Many fans called the Polish national team tragic, and they also gave a performance they would rather not comment on.
“At the moment, it looks like no coach can help here. The simplest elements are lacking – approach to the game, processing, positional play. The players, who are playing their 20th or 30th match for the national team, have their hands full, as if they were making their debut and playing against Brazil,” wrote another spectator.
In general, after the match, Polish supporters talked about the national team having to get back on its feet, as it is clearly not going to have an easy time in qualifying Group E.
“I think our team is the worst in Europe at the moment. Even with a world-class coach, we are taking a beating, and that’s too bad. Either we are not avoiding injuries or we are playing like clogs.”
