Although it didn’t look like it initially, this transfer is already done according to the latest information. The club and the player have agreed on the terms of the contract, Bayern will no longer keep the Warsaw native.
Lewandowski will indeed head to the Spanish LA Liga, specifically to Barcelona. Moreover, the well-known and respected journalist Fabrizio Romano came up with information on his Twitter account regarding the transfer amount and Lewandowski’s contract.
According to him, the thirty-three year old Polish sniper will earn around €9 million per year, while Lewandowski has reportedly been in contact with Xavi since February, or the end of it.
Lewandowski was due to sign his contract with the Barcelona management today, Sunday 17 July. Bayern will receive a total of €50 million for this transfer, with €5 million of this amount being bonuses.

The Polish international thus ends a great and eventful part of his career. He joined Bayern in July 2014 from Borussia Dortmund, even for free. Since then, he has played 375 games for the Bavarian side across all competitions, scoring an impressive 344 goals and adding 72 assists.
Lewandowski has won 8 German football titles with the giant, lifted the National Cup trophy three times and also celebrated the overall Champions League title with his team in 2020.
He will thus start a whole new story in Barcelona. Will he achieve another string of successes in his advanced football age?
