Ancelotti’s position? Real Madrid are concerned, but sacking is not on the agenda

Nowhere is there as much pressure to win the Champions League as at Real Madrid. For most top clubs, winning an eared trophy is a bonus and a wish, for teams like Manchester City and PSG the goal is to win at least one trophy, which has never been achieved.
But at Real Madrid it is a duty to fight for the Eared trophy every year. And every elimination is taken as a failure. Not for nothing does the royal club have 14 titles to their name.
Last season, Carlo Ancelotti returned to the Los Blancos bench and enjoyed a dream season, capped off with victories in La Liga and the Champions League. He started the next season brilliantly, breaking the record for consecutive wins, but gradually his team went away.
In the Spanish league he fell short to Barcelona, and in the Champions League he fought until the semi-finals, where Manchester City were beyond his strength.
After a disgraceful and worst performance of the season, some fans are calling for the sacking of Carlo Ancelotti, which is what has been discussed in the media throughout the spring.
However, this should not be the order of the day. One of the best journalists on the news about Real Madrid, Mario Cortegana of The Athletic, reports that while there are concerns at the club with the result, Ancelotti’s position is solid and the club made that clear to him last night.
This was confirmed by the Italian coach himself at the post-match press conference when asked about his continuation with the team. “The president made it clear 15 days ago. Nobody has any doubts. What the president said to me in private I will not say here,” Ancelotti said.
Ancelotti certainly doesn’t deserve to be sacked, after all he has won every trophy possible with the club in 2 seasons. However, he needs a bit of support from the management and to expand the squad, Real are woefully short of a second striker who could revive the game.
Benzema has experienced a big slump compared to the last season of his life, and even if he is not 100% fit, he has to play all the minutes because Real simply don’t have a second striker. Just like on the wings, there is no qualitatively similar replacement for Vinícius and Rodrygo.
