Will Carlo Ancelotti take over the Brazilian national football team? There was light speculation over the Italian strategist’s future at Real Madrid six months ago, but now it reportedly looks like he has indeed reached an agreement with Brazil.
Carlo Ancelotti has returned to Real Madrid after coaching engagements at Bayern, Napoli and Everton, and will return at the start of July 2021.
The contract at the Santiago Bernabeu runs until the end of June 2024 and it is, of course, not yet clear what will happen after that.
However, Spanish football site Football España has reportedly reached an agreement with Ancelotti to coach the Brazilian national football team.
Ednaldo Rodrigues has previously made no secret of his wish, which was to bring the current Real Madrid coach to Brazil.
However, the 47-year-old coach assured all the fans of the royal club that he will continue in the Spanish capital in the upcoming season.
So when could the transfer to Brazil come? The aforementioned site mentions, for example, the possibility of Ancelotti parting ways as early as the middle of the upcoming season. However, this is the less realistic option.
The more acceptable one for all parties is to leave after the end of the 2023/24 season, which would give Florentino Pérez enough time to find a new coach. Moreover, it would be very complicated for Real to replace such a coach during the season.
After his return to Madrid, Ancelotti won the Champions League, the Club World Cup, the UEFA Super Cup and last but not least the Copa del Rey and the Spanish Super Cup with the famous team there.
