Carlo Ancelotti has a truly momentous anniversary ahead of him. This Tuesday, he will take charge of his 300th match as Real Madrid’s bench boss. The Italian strategist of the Spanish royal club will record this impressive record in the match against Alavés.
However, it certainly doesn’t mean the end of Ancelotti at Real anytime soon. Not only does the 57-year-old coach not intend to quit, but he also wants to spend a few more years on the Madrid giant’s bench.
“I don’t think about my future at all, I love this job. I’ve been lucky to coach great teams, tomorrow will be my 300th game at the best club in the world, that’s something special,” Ancelotti told reporters at a press conference ahead of Tuesday’s game, his words also quoted by beIN SPORTS.
“You certainly can’t compare my fatigue with the fatigue of the players. There’s pressure, responsibility, but I love it. At the moment I don’t see that I have a specific end date, I would like to stay here for many more years,” added the experienced coach.
Ancelotti also has one record in sight with his charges. Real have not lost for 38 matches in a row, so they may soon catch up with Barcelona, which has 43 matches without defeat.
Ancelotti at Real Madrid
Ancelotti has managed Real Madrid twice. He spent a total of 119 matches there between 2013 and 2015. In that period, he won the Copa del Rey and led the Spanish giants to a long-awaited 10th crown in the prestigious Champions League.
Since his return to the Santiago Bernabeu in 2021, Ancelotti has overseen another 180 matches and led the team to two more Champions League successes, two triumphs in domestic competition and another Copa del Rey victory.
