Real Madrid are not having a good season at the moment, so speculation about Carlo Ancelotti’s dismissal is growing. The Italian coach himself has stated that he is not going to leave the club voluntarily, only if he is sacked.

Barcelona are running away from Real Madrid in the La Liga table. After Sunday’s win over Villarreal, the Catalan club has already built up an eleven-point lead, and although Real still have a game to spare, the management is not letting the club’s current situation rest.

The management has to do something about the situation, so they have decided to discuss a possible replacement for Carlo Ancelotti. The Italian coach had to win the Club World Cup with the team or he would have been sacked. Real won that competition and so Ancelotti can continue his work.

In the context of the ultimatum given by the management to its coach, the media began to spread reports about the next possible job of the experienced coach. One of them could be the national team of Brazil.

The South American national team is looking for a new coach because of the failed World Cup in Qatar. There, Brazil completely failed to make it through the quarter-final match against Croatia and were eliminated after a penalty shootout.

But Ancelotti firmly put an end to all the speculation. “I’m not leaving here until I’m sacked. It is a pleasure to be part of the history of Real Madrid, ” Ancelotti told Spanish daily Marca.

He had a few words to say about the Club World Cup. “We had a great time in Morocco with the fans who came to support us. We are leaving very happy,” Ancelotti added about the tournament that just took place.

Carlo Ancelotti and his team must now focus on the domestic competition, where they are catching up with leaders Barcelona. Real can close the gap as early as Wednesday when they host Elche in a league match.

But the Spanish club must also turn its attention to the Champions League, where it has passed the group stage. It will then play Liverpool in the eighth round. The first match is scheduled for 21 February in Liverpool.
