Bundesliga
An unflattering calling card! Schick is the worst player in the Bundesliga, according to a prestigious media outlet. How are Hložek and other legionnaires doing?
Patrik Schick was unstoppable last season and became the second top scorer in the Bundesliga. But this season is different. The whole Leverkusen team was not doing well, but the Czech striker did not help with his poor performances. According to the prestigious German media, he is the worst player in the league. How are the other legionnaires doing?

There are seven of our players in the Bundesliga this season, but it can’t be said that they are doing very well. Certainly much more was expected. Especially from Patrik Schick, who scored goal after goal last season.
But the Leverkusen blanket fell on him as well. Or perhaps his unproductivity has affected the team. The Czech striker has burned several chances this season, and has even received criticism from teammate Kerem Demirbay.
Schick also has very poor numbers in the xG, or expected goals, column. Moreover, he has missed the last few games due to injury. According to the prestigious Kicker, the Leverkusen star is the worst ever player in the Bundesliga this season.
The former Roma or Leipzig player has played 11 league games this season and scored 2 goals. And his average mark? An unflattering 4.60. That puts him in 213th and therefore last position. The penultimate Ondrej Duda boasts a 4.39.
Adam Hložek is not much better off according to his grades. However, we have to point out that he often came on as a substitute in poorly played games. The mark of 4,31 and therefore the 208th position are quite strict.
What about the other countrymen?
Only players who played at least 50% of the matches are counted in the statistics. That’s why Tomas Koubek, Vladimir Darida or Pavel Kadeřábek are missing in the grades.
Alex Král is doing relatively as expected. He is a regular in the starting line-up for the struggling Schalke and is certainly not one of the worst players in the team. He is practically close to average in the Bundesliga. A 3.61 grade and a 132nd place ranking are not the worst.
The best of our legionnaires is Jiri Pavlenka. He is again a key player for Werder Bremen and ranks among the best goalkeepers in the competition. A mark of 3.04 puts him in an excellent 33rd position.
It is worth mentioning that Kicker grades players really strictly. In fact, the best player according to average marks is Daichi Kamada, who holds an average rating of 2.45 in a Frankfurt jersey.
