An unexpected return to England? Premier League club interested in Roberto Firmino

Roberto Firmino left the European turf before this season. He became one of the many players who headed to Saudi Arabia for a lucrative offer. However, he is not shining too brightly at Al Ahli and so it is possible that he could leave his current club. There is interest in him not only in England.

Firmino has just three goals in the Saudi Pro League. He scored all three in his first game for the Saudi club, when he scored his debut hat-trick.

Since then, Firmino has struggled. Al Ahli fans are not too fond of him either. It would therefore be a logical outcome that the 32-year-old Brazilian could change jersey as early as this winter.

Firmino could stay in Saudi Arabia or go to England

According to Talksport, the last Premier League team Sheffield United were interested in the former Hoffenheim or Liverpool striker.

However, the team, which is languishing at the tail of the table with just nine points, recently resorted to a coaching change. It is not clear if the interest in the Brazilian is still there, as his arrival was mainly wanted by former coach Paul Heckingbottom.

The Al Ahli management would like to send Firmino on loan within the Arabian Peninsula. However, the player himself would prefer a move back to Europe. He would not be averse to a possible return to his native Brazil.

According to speculation, Arab clubs such as Al Shabab, Al Ettifaq and Al Fateh were interested in the 2019 Coppa America winner. Teams from Turkey were also expected to show further interest in the player.

Al Ahli will play one more match in this calendar year. This will be followed by the winter break, which lasts until February 15. It remains to be seen how Firmino’s situation will develop during this period.
