The MotoGP royal cubature has completed its sixth race of the season and it was an absolutely fantastic spectacle! Johann Zarco suffered a painful accident and the riders fought for the win and the podium until the last lap.

Francesco Bagnaia and Fabio Quartararo made a rocket start and held their positions after the start. Aleix Espargaro, on the other hand, dropped two places in the opening laps. Japanese LCR Honda driver Takaaki Nakagami also made a very solid start.

He climbed to fourth position, but lost it within a short time and dropped to his original seventh starting position.

Johann Zarco also lost three places in the early laps, with an excellent start to the race from Brad Binder. Already at the end of the opening lap, the fans witnessed the first crash when Stefan Bradl and Jorge Martin went down in turn 13.

However, both were able to continue the race.

Bagnaia, Quartararo, Miller, Marc Márquez, Aleix Espargaro, Mir, Nakagami, Bezzecchi – this was the order of the top eight after nine laps.

During the race, the leading pair had built up a really solid lead, namely four and a half seconds.

On lap eleven, Pramac driver Johann Zarco suffered this crash, after which the thirty-one-year-old Frenchman was unable to continue in the Spanish Grand Prix.

Germany’s Bradl also dropped out of the race a lap later. Another Pramac driver did not continue in the Spanish Grand Prix, as Bradl crashed for the second time at turn 13.

Bagnaia, Quartararo, Miller, Marc Márquez, Aleix Espargaro, Mir, Nakagami, Bezzecchi, Bastianini, Brad Binder – this was the order of the elite ten in the seventeenth round of the sixth race of this season.

The fans in the stands and on the TV screens watched a beautiful and healthy duel for third place between Miller and Márquez. However, the Ducati rider was able to defend his third place for several laps.

While Bagnaia at the front of the field managed to protect his seven-tenths of a second advantage over second-placed Quartararo, things were happening behind the leading pair.

Aleix Espargaro and Joan Mir joined the battle for the podium thanks to a battle between Miller and Márquez. With three laps to go, it was Espargaro who led this foursome, taking advantage of Márquez’s mistake at turn thirteen. The legendary Spanish racer had in fact got ahead of Miller a lap earlier with this brilliant manoeuvre.

On the final lap of the Spanish Grand Prix, second-placed Quartararo closed the gap on race leader Bagnaia, but the Ducati rider held on to his top spot.

The magnificent battle for third place, and therefore the podium, was won by Aleix Espargaro on the Aprilia motorcycle, which records another success and proves the great progress of this team.

Fourth place at the finish went to Márquez, with Jack Miller finishing fifth and Mir crossing the line sixth. Seventh place was held by Nakagami, who put in a solid performance with his Honda. Enea Bastianini finally took eighth place ahead of Bezzecchi, with Brad Binder rounding out the elite ten.

A terrible race for Suzuki rider Alex Rins, who, after great performances in previous events, ended his time at the Spanish Grand Prix in

“I’m really very happy, I was much faster than both Márquez and Miller in that race today, but I wasn’t able to pass them. Then I thought I had to take advantage of their battles and mistakes and I slipped into the space between them. I can’t believe I’m currently second in the drivers’ championship,” said Aleix Espargaro in a post-race interview.

“Pecco had a great start, he did a great performance. I tried everything, but my front tyre was too hot and I had too much pressure. But we were both incredibly fast and I enjoyed the race today,” Quartararo said in his post-race interview at Jerez.

“It’s great what we’ve managed to do with our bike, despite how we struggled in the early part of the season. We never stopped working and today we did an incredible job. Despite my shoulder problems, first place is a great reward and I am very happy,” Bagnaia also reacted to his performance immediately after the race.
