Criticism of “ring girls” is growing
Recently, a topic has surfaced that is kind of rocking the world of mixed martial arts. The debate about the lack of pay for UFC fighters has put the beauties known as “ring girls” in jeopardy.
The cage girls, who show off their glamour while hosting tournaments around the world, are an essential part of combat sports. But that may not be true in the future. In fact, more and more people from the martial arts world are speaking out on the subject.
The wave of criticism of the beautiful ladies in MMA was unleashed by the legendary Khabib Nurmagomedov, who said that “ring girls” are the most useless persons in the UFC. He heard criticism of his opinion from a significant portion of the male audience.
For example, Conor McGregor shared a funny picture of the famous Waylon Smithers character devoted to Mr. Burns from the Simpsons series on his social media following the words of his ace Khabib.
Conor was joined by the girls themselves, however, since then there has been much more criticism of the girls’ salaries.
In addition to Khabib and the legendary Ronda Rousey, former UFC fighter Uriah Hall has leaned into the pay of the “ring girls”. “I don’t have to go into too much detail, but I know fighters who make $10,000 a win, which is ridiculous,” Hall said , according to Talksport. “People who go to fight who lose brain cells with every punch and then some ring girls make seven times that,” he marveled.
American ring girl Arianna Celeste has hit back at critics
One of the biggest stars among UFC ring girls Arianny Celeste had to react to the criticism of the American fighter. The 36-year-old beauty began her UFC career in 2006 and 16 years later she is still a stalwart of the organisation.
“I feel like I have to address this because it’s been said several times and it’s not true,” Celeste responded to the criticism of her salary on her TikTok. “I don’t know where the amounts come from, but it’s mostly criticism from former UFC fighters,” she revealed.
“So no, I don’t make more than the fighters, I’ve been in this industry for more than 15 years and I’ve tried my whole life to be where I am now,” the American beauty explained. “I have an account on OnlyFans that makes me money, I also invest my money in real estate,” she described the origin of her income.
“It took me 15 years of hard work, determination and time to be an independent woman who is not afraid to take risks and build her own bright future,” she described her talents. “We are more than just ordinary ring girls, we have invested a lot of time, effort and energy into promoting the UFC,” she offered her perspective.
“You don’t have to like us, but respect us for what we’ve done, ” the lovely girl added. The truth is that the American beauty is truly the belle of the show. The eye of the male part of the fans must surely give us the truth.
