Connor Bedard is one of the most talented players in the NHL right now. The number one overall pick in this year’s draft has been showing his great potential so far, and in Chicago’s last game against Edmonton, he did it again. And this time it was a beautiful goal.

Still only eighteen years old, Canadian Bedard scored another goal in Chicago’s game against Edmonton, his twelfth goal in the current NHL season.

The Blackhawks selected the North Vancouver native as their first pick in the first round of this year’s draft. As a rookie, he naturally signed a rookie contract with Chicago that will earn him $950,000 per year under current terms.

Of course, back to the game. Bedard opened the scoring at 3:21, assisted by Alex Vlasic and Louis Crevier.

In 28 games played, one of the NHL’s most talented players has 24 points, scoring 12 goals and recording the same number of assists. It’s worth mentioning that it was a great shot. Bedard once again showed his quick hands and impressed the fans of the famous overseas competition for the umpteenth time.

Bedard was Chicago’s most productive player, but the Oilers didn’t make it

Bedard is currently the most productive player of the Blackhawks. He is 55th in the overall Canadian scoring rankings with 24 points (12+12).

However, Chicago did not win the game in Edmonton. The Oilers turned the score in their favour in the first period, when Ryan Nugent-Hopkins scored after half of the first period and Sam Gagner added his second goal at 18:19.

In the middle period Leon Draisaitl scored for a change. In the last 20 minutes, Zach Hyman sealed the deal for Edmonton with a power play goal to make it 4-1.

Although the Oilers won and for the eighth time in a row they got two points, they did not yet reach the eighth playoff spot. This is of course due to a disastrous start to the season, losing ten times in twelve games.

Edmonton is currently ninth in the Western Conference with 27 points. Chicago is at the bottom of the NHL with only 19 points.
