  • The World Championship of Road Motorcycles will return to the Masaryk Circuit in Brno next year
  • Official confirmation from MotoGP came on Wednesday afternoon
  • The contract with the circuit is for five years, from 2025 to 2029

The Czech Republic Grand Prix has been one of the top stops for the World Championship of Road Motorcycles, building on a rich history and general popularity with fans, riders and teams. The Masaryk Circuit is one of the tracks that almost every old-school fan can’t get enough of.

The long stretches, attractive stadium sections and significant elevation changes not only offered an adrenaline rush for the drivers, but Czech motoring fans were also in for a treat. A beautiful view of a large part of the circuit from almost any position and at least once a year their country became the world centre of the entire motorcycle season.

We wrote about the Brno race in great detail in a previous article. So what was behind the Czech Republic’s departure from the MotoGP calendar or what the riders themselves complained about.

Two weeks ago, the news leaked out that the World Championship of Road Motorcycles could return to the Masaryk Circuit.

And this was officially confirmed on Wednesday afternoon. But Brno will have to make many adjustments, as the sport has undergone major changes in four years. The Sport.cz website has estimated the necessary investment at 200 million crowns.

MotoGP back in Brno!

“I have always believed that MotoGP will return to Brno. Over the years, riders, team officials, people from Dorna and the FIM have asked me many times what is happening there and when we will return, because everyone loves Brno. The change of ownership of the circuit made this possible, as the new owner decided to invest in the development of this iconic venue.

A big thank you to the Government of the Czech Republic and Prime Minister Mr. Fiala, the South Moravian Region and the Governor Mr. Grolich, the City of Brno and its Mayor Mrs. Vankova and the event partner Creditas!” said the President of the Autoclub of the Czech Republic Jan Št’ovíček in the official statement.
