Jaroslav Šilhavý, the coach of the Czech national football team, demonstrated how amateurism looks like in practice after the match against England. He was completely unaware that some players were in danger of being carded. Moreover, Bořil was sent off and the Czech coach was not sure if he would really miss the game.
Coach Jaroslav Šilhavy stirred up the social media waters after the Czech Republic’s match against England. He made one of the strangest statements in recent times.
In an interview with iSport, he answered the question about the problem of Jan Boril’s absence for the eighth-final match.
“In the cabin we are now examining whether he is really out of the game. But it looks like he won’t play and someone else will have to come in,” he said.
How is it possible that the coach of the national team is not aware that he has a player in card danger? Especially when it’s only three players?
Something like that he should simply keep an eye on, only Masopust, Bořil and Hložek were at risk. Alternatively, the coaching staff needs to tell him, not analyze it after the game.
Many people said before the game that Bořil would be sent off and the Czech team would not have a left back.
The team doesn’t even have one except Bořil, as Matějů and Kadeřábek play more on the right, Sadílek in the midfield.
However, one of this trio will have to start instead of Boril. In that case, however, they should have been given a chance already for a few minutes against England. But the Czech coach would have to analyze that before the game.
