Álvaro Morata is a big traveller when it comes to transfers in football clubs. Outside of Juventus, he has played at Real Madrid, Atlético Madrid and Chelsea in England. This time, another Spanish club – Barcelona – was interested in him.
However, Juventus does not envisage Morata’s move to Barcelona to materialise. The Italian club’s management met with coach Massimiliano Allegri to discuss whether to let their striker leave. In fact, he is only on loan in Turin and Barcelona would have to discuss the transfer with Atlético, where Morata is still a tribal player.
Both the Juventus management and the manager have agreed that they do not want the Spanish striker to leave the team. Allegri then met with Morata, where the two discussed the situation. Even the player himself wishes to stay at Juventus.
Bad news for the Barcelona management. They will not get reinforcements in the form of Alvaro Morata, so they will have to look elsewhere. One of Barcelona’s dream signings is Erling Haaland.
Álvaro Morata has appeared in 26 games this season, scoring 9 goals. He scored five goals in the league, two in the cup and two in the Champions League.
Juventus are therefore likely to keep Morata in their service during the January transfer window. However, the Italian team would like to bring in a younger striker in the summer. Morata is currently 29 years old.
