On Thursday, the last matches of the Red Group will be played at the Turin Arena. One of them will be the match between Alexander Zverev and Hubert Hurkacz. Will the German tennis player confirm his role as the favourite and come closer to reaching the semi-finals?
Alexander Zverev has had one of the most successful seasons of his career so far. In addition to his titles in Vienna, Madrid, Acapulco and Cincinnati, he won the gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics.
He also successfully entered the Tournament of Champions. In the opening match he defeated Matteo Berrettini, who retired at the start of the second set. However, his path to qualification was complicated by a loss to Daniil Medvedev.
His opponent on Thursday will be Hubert Hurkacz. The 24-year-old Pole has won three tournaments since January (Delray Beach, Miami and Mets). However, he only qualified for the Tournament of Champions at the last minute thanks to a semi-final appearance in Paris.
However, he is not doing well at the final event of the year. The native of Wroclaw lost to Medvedev and Sinner. With only one set played so far, he has no chance to advance from the group.
On Thursday, only the second match between these players will be played on the hard surface in Turin. The first one in 2019 was dominated by Zverev on the clay in Madrid 3::6, 6::4 and 6::4. Now a slightly clearer course of the match is expected.
So what to bet on? The clear favourite in this contest is the German, who will not be moved to the semi-finals by anything other than a win. That’s why we offer a bet on Zverev to win 2:0 at odds of 1.70.
