Agent of Vladimir Coufal: We expected a better offer! He would have deserved a longer-term contract upgrade

Vladimir Coufal is in his fourth season at West Ham. He continues to be a stable member of the starting line-up, but he is not happy now. The reason for this is the option to extend his contract for one more year. He wanted not only a longer contract but also a more comfortable financial reward.

Excellent performances at Slovan Liberec secured Vladimír Coufal’s engagement at Slavia Prague, where he spent two successful seasons and was given the opportunity to leave for the Premier League. The Czech international accepted the offer and became a new West Ham player.

He is playing his fourth season there and is still a stable part of the starting line-up of the team that regularly plays in the top half of the Premier League table. His contract was slowly coming to an end and he could have thought about what options he would choose for the rest of his career, but West Ham exercised their right.

That was to exercise his option for another year, in which case there would be no improvement in terms unless otherwise stated. And that particular exercise doesn’t exactly sit well with Coufal. That’s why he’s considering a move elsewhere.

Coufal’s agent has spoken

“Cuf would certainly deserve better consideration from the club and a new improved longer term contract for the performances he has been showing in a West Ham jersey over the long term, in addition to the Conference title.

So far the West Ham management, even after negotiations, see it differently and have only exercised the option and a one year extension. Cuf is not happy about it, we expected a better offer,” Karol Kisel told inFotbal .

The former Slavia Prague footballer is now a player agent for K2K Sports, whose stable includes Alex Král, Jaromír Zmrhal and Patrik Vydra in addition to Coufal.

What other alternatives does Coufal have?

What options does Coufal have now? Of course, he will not get a new contract and it is up to him whether he wants to continue with the club under such conditions. At 31 years old, he may have one last chance to go elsewhere.

There was speculation in the summer about him leaving for Bayer Leverkusen, but that option is now probably unrealistic. Still, he could head to another Bundesliga side or try a more financially interesting exotic engagement.
