Matteo Pessina, an AC Monza offspring who left the club seven years ago for AC Milan is now returning. The 25-year-old midfielder will come on loan from Atalanta Bergamo. The transfer also includes a compulsory option worth €15 million, which will be activated if the club is rescued.
Interestingly, half of the activated option is expected to go to AC Milan, from whom Pessina transferred to Atalanta five years ago. According to club chairman Galliani, the Italian international should even become captain of the Serie A newcomer.
A few days ago, there were speculations in the media that the duo from Argentina, Dybala and Icardi, could join AC Monza. The former is still without a commitment, while his move to Inter has stalled for now. However, several clubs are interested in the striker, including AC Milan.
However, the chances of Mauro Icardi returning to Italy are already greater. Fabrizio Romano has also confirmed the interest from Milan. Adriano Galliani has even already had a meeting with Icardi’s agent, who is his wife, Wanda Nara.
Even so, the transfer looks very complicated, as the striker still has a contract at PSG, where he moved for €50 million from Inter Milan two years ago. However, his current value should be only 22 million according to the transfermarkt website.
Monza are also interested in Barcelona stopper or right-back Óscar Minguez. Barcelona is willing to let the player go and the clubs have already started negotiations. Another option for the defence would be Turkish stopper Kaan Ayhan from Sassuolo, who the club is also interested in.
