AC Milan vs. Inter Milan: Preview and betting tips
Wednesday’s Champions League semi-final will feature the Milan derby. AC will play Inter on neutral ground, as San Siro is the home of both teams. What to expect from the match and what to bet on?
It’s almost a miracle that AC have reached the semi-finals, as their form is far from ideal. They have won only two of their last six games and are two points behind the top four from fifth place. On their way to the top four, they knocked out Tottenham and Napoli.
Inter are going the Portuguese way, beating Porto in the eighth round and Benfica a round further back. It is in a better frame of mind, having won its past five games, including triumphs over Juventus, AS Roma and Lazio. It has reached the final of the domestic cup and holds fourth place in Serie A.
AC’s key figures
The home side rely on Rafael Leão, the agile Portuguese winger has netted 13 goals and assisted 13. Theo Hernandez is the holder of the defence alongside stopper Fikay Tomori, the French back has scored four times and assisted five.
Inter’s key figures
Lautaro Martinez is firing for the visitors, the Argentine striker has scored 23 goals and assisted ten others. The team’s backline is unthinkable without Nicola Barella, the Italian blond has struck eight times and assisted nine times.
What to expect and what to bet on?
Despite the quality offensive options, AC’s attack is not working. It has scored more than once in only one of its last eight games, and with 55 goals scored, it has the third worst offensive record in the Serie A Top 7 after Juventus and Lazio Roma.
Inter, on the other hand, have the second best attack in Italy with 62 shots after the unstoppable Napoli. Moreover, in the last six games, they have maintained an average of three goals per game, giving, for example, an excellent defending Lazio a three.
Considering Inter’s form and especially the ideal disposition of their attack, as well as AC’s offensive misery, I think Simone Inzaghi’s charges can win and build a lead for the rematch.
