Absolute failure! French youths burned to death in the Faroe Islands!
The criticism of Czech football and footballers is very deeply rooted here. Criticism can be found, for example, even after a loss to the world’s best team from Belgium. But the Czech national team hasn’t seen an outright failure against a football midget in a long time.
The criticism of Czech football and footballers is very deeply rooted here. Criticism can be found, for example, even after a loss to the world’s best team from Belgium. But the Czech national team hasn’t seen an outright failure against a football midget in a long time. The same can be said of our national under-21 team. For example, the French U21 team filled with stars literally exploded in the Faroe Islands! There is a lot of criticism for that.
The lion cubs managed their first national break with flying colours! They dealt with a tough Slovenia (1: 0) and yesterday they swept Albania 4: 0. The score after two matches is 5: 0 and 6 points. What more could you ask for? The team is almost entirely made up of players from the two highest Czech competitions, only Tomáš Ostrák and the goalkeeper pair of Kovář and Jaroš can enjoy foreign engagements.
It is the French youngsters who have been engaged by the best teams in the world and some of them even play regularly in the starting line-ups. Yet they drew with a football midget from the Faroe Islands!
Just to give you an idea, the team includes fresh Real Madrid signing Eduardo Camavinga and Leeds United’s goalkeeping stalwart Illan Meslier between the sticks. Subsequently, almost the entire team is made up of players who are regulars in the French Ligue 1.
The 1-1 draw with the Faroe Islands is therefore truly reprehensible; on the other hand, this is also a demonstration of why football is such an unpredictable and beautiful sport. Fans simply have to understand that you can’t always win, even if you have a better team, more chances, more of the game, in football sporting luck is also a major factor.
Look at the goal scored by the French youngsters, a huge mistake made by the aforementioned goalkeeper Meslier.
