The Scottish Premiership offered one of the most watched derbies in the world. The so-called Old Firm derby was played at Celtic Park and the home side did not treat Rangers. They won the match 3-0 and jumped to the first place in the league table.

Celtic had to settle for second place last season after 9 years and bowed out to their city rivals Rangers FC in the title fight. This season, Rangers had a decent shot at defending, but the Steven Gerrard effect seems to have worn off.
The former Scotland manager, who didn’t face either Slavia or Sparta during his tenure, has gone to the Premier League to seek his fortune, coaching Aston Villa. Former Rangers player and legendary Dutchman Giovanni van Bronckhorst has taken over his scepter.
But under his leadership, The Gers are not clicking like they used to. They’ve won only twice in their last five league games and Celtic have taken advantage.
In the clash between the Scottish giants, the first half decided the overall result. Two goals were scored by Japanese footballer Reo Hatate, the prestigious WhoScored server gave him a rating of 9.4 for his performance.
Liel Abada scored the so-called goal in the 44th minute, with a goal assisted by the great Hatate.
On the other hand, Glen Kamara did not play well and Manchester United’s Amad Diallo did not shine either. Both were substituted at half-time, Kamara got a 6.17 rating from WhoScored and Diallo an even worse 5.53.
The atmosphere at Celtic Park
The whole game was a sensational atmosphere that literally pushed the home side to victory. Even before the referee blew the famous “You’ll Never Walk Alone” at Celtic Park, it was clear that Rangers FC would not have an easy task. See for yourself!
Celtic (57 points) are ahead of Rangers (56 points) in the table, but the rivals are only a point apart. There are 9 rounds left in the competition and the key match will be the rematch at the Old Firm at Ibrox Stadium, the latter is on the agenda for the penultimate round of the Scottish Premiership.
