Things are really happening in the Italian Serie A, especially at AC Milan. According to several new reports, American owner Gerry Cardinale seems to be trying to rebuild the squad. The proof is the new speculations about players who could head to the San Siro in the summer. One of them is Romelu Lukaku from Inter.

Probably no one else has been so much associated with transfer speculation in the last ten hours as the Italian big club AC Milan.

The transfer of Sandro Tonali to Newcastle is imminent, while the article in which we reported on this transfer also mentioned several other names that are in turn linked with a move to the San Siro.

In fact, the Rossoneri will collect around 70 million euros for the departure of the heartthrob, if he will indeed move to the Premier League.

However, other names have recently appeared on AC’s radar. One is Tijjani Reijnders from Alkmaar. He scored eight goals and assisted eleven more in the last Eredivisie season, after which he was voted player of the year in the Dutch top flight.

AZ values him at €20 million. A much hotter topic, however, is Romelu Lukaku and his potential transfer to a huge city rival.

Italian media, specifically La Gazzetta dello Sport and Sky Sports Italia, confirm that AC Milan are indeed in talks with Inter to change his jersey to red and black.

Indeed, the Belgian forward is set to move back to Chelsea after spending a season on loan at Inter.

The Nerazzurri reportedly cannot afford to sign Lukaku on a permanent transfer, whereupon they are negotiating other options with the London club. Preferably, of course, an extension of his current loan spell.

The player himself is also keen on staying at Inter, a transfer to AC does not seem to be the realistic one not only for this reason. After all, moving to a arch rival would not do any good in the AC cabin. Especially after the club’s owner Gerry Cardinale broke the team spirit with the still potential sale of Tonali.

It should be noted, AC have other priorities in the transfer market. One of the targets is Davide Frattesi from Sassuolo, who are asking €40 million for him. And Chelsea would also ask a similar amount for a permanent transfer.
