The incredible story of a Newcastle fan who had his tickets for tonight’s cup final between his beloved club and Manchester United eaten by his dog.

It’s a story straight out of the schoolroom. A Newcastle fan must have felt like a schoolboy who forgot his homework when he walked up to the ticket office at London’s Wembley shrine earlier this week.

It seems like a fictional story, but this one really happened. For 25 years, a football fan has been waiting for his beloved club Newcastle United to reach the English Cup final.

The dream has become a reality and in just a short while his club will face the favoured Manchester United in the Carabao Cup final.

When Alan Curling learned from the club’s management that 97% of the seats for the final of that match at Wembley would be given to season ticket holders, he panicked. Nevertheless, he entered the club’s competition for tickets to the spectacular final and won tickets to the dream match.

But when he came home from a Newcastle home game in which his team lost 0-2 to Liverpool, he was facing an even bigger disaster at home than losing a point to Jürgen Klopp’s favoured team.

On the floor of his apartment he found a torn ticket for the Carabao Cup final. The culprit was clear. It was his 11-month-old golden retriever puppy who had feasted on his dream win.

The die-hard fan took the situation with a smile and shared his story on social media. This later turned out to be a stroke of genius. For when he travelled to London to tell his story to the young lady behind the window at the ticket office outside the final venue at Wembley, it was his shared post that helped him in his predicament.

In fact, a boy appeared in the back room of the ticket office and registered his post, allowing the fan to watch his dream match. Will this incredible story have a happy ending for the fan, even football-wise?
