Franck Ribéry is the undisputed legend of Bayern Munich. However, he has spent the last two seasons showing his qualities in Florence, Italy. However, Fiorentina did not renew his contract and he is now a free agent. Is a return to Bavaria in the cards?
There is no clarity about Franck Ribéry’s future. After his time at Bayern Munich, he spent two years at Fiorentina, but the latter, under strange circumstances, did not extend his contract.
One could say that the club had no reason to do so. Ribéry was one of the key players and his presence was always felt on the pitch. He simply played brilliantly.
Even the player himself was surprised that no one had contacted him. Although he expressed his gratitude for the two years he had been able to spend at the club with the great fans, he regrets the way he is ending up in Florence.
But what next? Ribéry has let it be known that he can imagine staying in Italy, however, there is another option in play. A spectacular return to Munich.
Former Germany international Lothar Matthäus wrote on Instagram that Bayern should think about Ribéry’s arrival. The French winger’s reply didn’t take long to come: ‘Thanks, my friend. I’m ready!”
Ribéry played at Bayern from 2007 to 2019. He was a key player, he became a legend. He played 425 games for the club with a record of 124 goals scored and 182 assists.
Bayern doesn’t have many wingers. Only Gnabry, Coman and Sané are available. Of course, even Müller can play on the wing, but he is not a pure winger.
Ribéry would certainly be able to tolerate and respect that he wouldn’t be the number one choice. However, even at 38, he maintains a high standard of performance and could be an asset.
