A shaky Maguire sinks Manchester United. Who does he know he’s still playing for, fans ask
Harry Maguire. Manchester United fans would probably have to hunt in their memories for a long time to find a player from their own ranks they had a greater aversion to than this player. The current captain continues to deliver appalling performances, sinking his squad ever deeper.

Sure, players can’t be responsible for their transfer fee, it’s a club thing. However, if a player comes in for huge money, you expect some quality. That still hasn’t arrived with Maguire coming to United.
Manchester paid a whopping £80 million to Leicester for the burly stopper. That sum has been dragging with Maguire since his arrival at Old Trafford, although he certainly can’t account for it, fans will remember to remind him of it every time he performs badly.
Maguire is spending his third season in a Red Devils jersey, gradually becoming captain as well. The man with the armband is supposed to lead the team, be a leader, set an example for others and, of course, perform above standard. That’s not what’s happening with Maguire. Manchester United reached the knockout stage of the Champions League after three years, only to be hit by a cold shower right at the start of the game against Atlético Madrid.
In the seventh minute, Renan Lodi sent a beautiful centre behind the defence. Maguire could have prevented it, but he forgot all about it, letting the little Felix run and not preventing him from jumping, so he comfortably opened the scoring.
Manchester United fans immediately went on an immediate rampage. “What’s Maguire still doing there? He’s not even fit for the third division!” one fan raged. “Who does he know he’s still playing for? I’ve never seen a worse stopper in my life, ” another lamented.
Maguire the butt of jokes
Maguire immediately became the butt of jokes on social media. Ronaldo knocked Atlético Madrid out of the Champions League every time he faced them (5). So what’s the plan? The professor from the popular TV series La Casa De Papel will put Maguire in the game.
“Only Harry Maguire can make João Felix look like Andy Carroll at his most glorious in the air.”
Manchester United fans are very unhappy that Maguire is the captain of their team. They would much rather see Cristiano Ronaldo, Bruno Fernandes or David De Gea, who look like much bigger leaders on the pitch.
