A rematch with Teixeira? We want to fight at the end of the year, we can’t get it together before then, says Prochazek’s coach Karaivanov
Jiri Prochazka wants to defend his UFC title at the end of the year, but it is not yet certain who he will face. What is certain, however, is who it won’t be against, and that fighter is Glover Teixeira. Why?
Jiri Prochazka wants to defend his UFC title at the end of the year, but it is not yet certain who he will face. What is certain, however, is who it won’t be against, and that fighter is Glover Teixeira. Why?
Glover Teixeira was asking for a rematch immediately after his loss to Jiri Prochazka. He was the better fighter in the fight and only lost in the last minute when the Czech ended it.
It was no wonder and many hoped for a rematch. Maybe we will, but certainly not anytime soon. Why?
“We will find the best solution. What won’t happen is a rematch with Glover Teixeira. He let it be known that it will take him a long time to get his act together, which is understandable. But we want to fight before the end of the year – November or December.
He can’t get it together before then. We’ve got the wolves in line, and they’re already barking at us in some way. We will have to respond, we will definitely choose the best option that will be offered,” coach Martin Karaivanov told CCN Prima News.
That leaves only three names, Jan Blachowicz, Magomed Ankalaev and Anthony Smith. The most realistic is the winner of the mutual competition of the last two.
After all, Dana White himself said so, with whom Procházka will have a meeting soon and there will definitely be a few sentences about when the fight will take place and with whom.
