A rematch with Teixeira? Rather, I have to show through other fights that I can go for it again, says Blachowicz
Not many people expected this. Glover Teixeira was Jan Blachowicz’s challenger for the welterweight title and he defeated his Polish opponent to become the champion. He said after the fight that he would not fight Jiri Prochazka, but there is also the option of a possible rematch. What did Blachowicz say about it?

Thirty-eight year old Jan Blachowicz lost his title to Glover Teixeira in the UFC organization on Saturday night. Jiri Prochazka, who was an alternate for that bout, may soon face him.
Teixeira himself would like to have him as a challenger, but Dana White hasn’t announced anything yet. There is a possibility of a rematch. But Blachowicz is not in favour of that.
“I don’t know how it will be. If there’s a chance to have a rematch, then of course I’m all for it, because I’d like to fight whoever beats me again.
But personally, I don’t think I should go for a rematch now. Rather, I have to prove through other fights that I can go for the title again,” he said after the fight.
This is indeed a nice gesture as the Pole realizes that he deservedly lost the fight and there are a lot of fighters waiting for their chance.
So after five wins in a row, it was a sad defeat for the champion. Blachowicz’s success was also wished for by many Czech fans, as their title fight would most likely be in Europe.
