A rematch with Pest? If our paths cross, why not? But I have my own plans, my own visions, Martínek admitted
Michal Martínek was supposed to be one of the main stars of the KSW tournament in Liberec. But due to an injury he had to take a forced break and the fans were looking forward to Viktor Peshta in his place. Unfortunately, he also had to excuse himself from the tournament. Will we see their rematch in the Polish organization?

After Michal Martinek’s injury, KSW introduced a new reinforcement in the form of Viktor Peshta. Unfortunately, he was stopped by a coronavirus shortly before the fight.
Neither of the leading Czech wrestlers showed up in the cage at KSW in Liberec. However, with both of them in the organization, their rematch is on offer.
Back then Martinek won due to an injury to his opponent in the first round, so it would definitely be interesting to see this fight again. Speculation has reached the fighters and Martinek was quick to respond.
“A bunch of people have been texting me about Viktor. I’m not going anywhere else. If he gets into the top 3, we’ll close that chapter once and for all. I don’t have the slightest problem with that. If he chooses this path, I understand it,” he said on his Instagram in January.
He didn’t know then that Peshta would not fight in Liberec. However, KSW definitely knows about their possible rematch and will probably want to make it happen at their next event in the Czech Republic.
Both fighters will probably show against other opponents before that. However, how realistic is Martinek’s current view of the fight with Pest?
“It will depend on his performance. How will he do in the rankings, how will I do there. I think Viktor will break into the top five. If our paths cross, why not? I’m not gonna fight it.
But I have my own plans, my own vision, I want to get to the title. That’s my path and I don’t care about anything else. Not the rematch with Omielanczuk, not Pest 2. I just want to be champion and I’m going to go for it.
But now there are a lot of new wrestlers in KSW, not only Peshta. New stories will be written and let’s wait and see how it will look like,” he said in an interview with Kaocko.cz.
