A message to the fans from Pelé! What is he telling them?
Brazilian soccer legend Pelé had to return to intensive care on Friday, this time for indigestion and esophageal problems, scaring fans around the world into renewed concern for the football legend’s health. However, Pelé sent a message on Sunday informing them that he was doing well and that family members and friends had already been to visit him.
At a routine check-up, Pelé was diagnosed with a tumour on his colon and had to undergo surgery for it. On Tuesday, doctors moved him from the ICU to a ward, but Pelé began having further problems with acid reflux, which, translated in layman’s terms, means esophageal and digestive problems.
He was therefore moved back to the ICU on Friday, which deeply affected all his fans. But the football legend sent a message via social media to reassure them.
“Friends, my recovery is going very well. Today I was visited by family members and I am smiling every day. Thank you for all the love I receive from you,” Pelé said.
The three-time World Cup winner seems to be in good spirits and his condition is slowly starting to improve. According to many, the greatest footballer of all time has won hundreds of matches in his lifetime and the whole world hopes that he will win this, quite possibly the most important match of his life.
