A huge tribute! Jiri Prochazka will compete at UFC 300, he knows the name of his opponent

Jiří Prochazka wanted to return to action as soon as possible after his loss to Alex Pereira. For a while he was looking for an opponent, there were several names in the game. Now the Moravian fighter knows not only when his next fight will be, but also the name of his opponent.

And it’s out. The Moravian samurai will receive a great honor. He lost to Alex Pereira in his last fight, but fortunately for the UFC, he’s obviously still a very interesting commodity. In fact, he will be making an appearance at the UFC 300 gala.

There are several fighters who dream of participating in this tournament. After all, no fighter wants to miss such an event. But he can’t get to all of them. For example, Dustin Poirier, a long-time star of the organization, has publicly announced his participation in UFC 300. So far without success.

Jiri Prochazka, however, will not be absent. The event will take place on April 14 at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. We won’t see him in the cage at the earliest, but at least he will have enough time to prepare, rest and generally get his act together.

After all, that will be necessary, because he’s not expecting anything easy. Various names have been speculated. For example, Khamzat Chimaev was discussed, there was talk of a rematch with Pereira or making the long desired fight with Jan Blachowicz. The BJP, however, faces a different challenge.

Jiri Prochazka will take on long-time rival

Basically ever since Jiri Prochazka signed with the UFC, Aleksandar Rakic has been picking on him in various ways. For a long time, the Vienna-based fighter couldn’t even accept the fact that BJP got a title shot quickly while he was pursuing it in vain.

Their fight has been discussed a couple of times, but never came to fruition. Rakic was supposed to face Blachowicz earlier this year, but the latter dropped out due to injury and the fighter with Serbian roots challenged the Moravian. However, they haggled for a long time over the date.

Prochazka couldn’t go into action right away. He asked for another month. A few nudges from Rakic followed, but for several days now there has been silence between the two. And now we know why. They’ll be facing each other in the cage at UFC 300.

“Good morning, everybody. The fight is announced. Let’s get to work,” Prochazka says via social media. “Everything worked out in the end and we have another fight confirmed for UFC 300,” adds his coach Martin Karaivanov.

However, the question is at what stage of the gala Procházka and Rakic will face off. UFC 300 is definitely going to be packed, and it may be that this star duel may not even be on the main card.
