The Czech women’s national football team has an interesting match ahead of them. On Tuesday 11 October, coach Karel Rada’s team will take on England in Brighton. It will be another interesting opportunity for the Czech women to gain experience.

The Czechs finished their World Cup qualification in style. They defeated Cyprus 6: 0 and then Belarus 7: 0. But as it was already certain, it was not enough to qualify.

They had to bow down to the first Netherlands and the second Iceland, who defeated our selection first at home 4: 0 and then in our home environment 2: 1.

But the Czechs don’t have to be sad, another chance will come soon. On 11 October they will compare their strengths in a friendly match with England.

The reigning European champions managed to qualify without losing a single point, beating Luxembourg 10-0 in their last match. “For our women’s team, the chance to play on English soil is an extraordinary opportunity and a chance to gain further great experience. We see this as another opportunity for the overall promotion of women’s football in the Czech Republic.

We are very happy that the negotiations on the realization of such a prestigious match with the English side were successful and the Czech national team can present itself on the soil of the reigning European champions,” said Petr Fousek, the president of the FAČR, after the announcement of the match for the official website.

Jakub Tomek, the manager of the women’s national team, added that there was interest in the match from England, who decided to play our team. Perhaps the last match of 2019, which ended in a narrow 2:3 defeat, was also to blame.

“I expect it to be a sell-out for sure because there is a huge euphoria in England right now, compounded by winning the European title. Thefans there are in favour of women’s football, so we are looking forward to it – both the match and the atmosphere,” said coach Rada. Before this match, the Czech team will play a home match against Hungary.
