Bayern Munich are looking for interesting reinforcements and an interesting idea was born during the search. A very interesting return is in the cards. One of the best midfielders in football history could arrive from Real Madrid.

It was the summer of 2014 when Bayern’s one of the worst sales in the club’s history took place. Real Madrid, on the other hand, made one of the best signings not only in the club’s history, but arguably in the history of football.

At the time, the Bavarian club sold the very talented midfielder Toni Kroos to Real Madrid for just €25 million. Today, for a player of such quality and potential, an absolutely ridiculous sum.

After all, Transfemarkt estimated Kroos’ value at 42 million at the time. At the age of 24, he had 205 games for Bayern, scoring 24 goals and assisting 49 more. In addition, he already boasted a collection of 10 trophies, including a Champions League gold medal.

And he did even better at Real Madrid. He became a long-time mainstay. With Luka Modric, he created one of the best midfield lines in history. But his contract expires in the summer and there is no sign of an extension.

Kroos is now 32 years old. It is not generally expected that he will play for a few more years. Rather the opposite. So the question of what to do with him is beginning to be addressed. El Nacional has now reported that Bayern, from where he came to Spain, are interested in him.

The German midfielder boasts a World Cup title and has won the Champions League four times with Real Madrid, as well as the Club World Cup and the UEFA Super Cup. He even became Germany’s best footballer in 2018.

In total, he has played 383 competitive matches for Real Madrid so far with a record of 26 goals and 87 assists. He ranks among the club’s legends and the best midfielders in football history.

The prospect of getting him for free at the end of the season is of course very tempting. That is why more clubs than just Bayern are expected to join the fight for him.
