Conference league
A day before the match between Slavia and Feyenoord, which positions are the biggest question marks?
Thursday at 6:45 p.m., it’s on. Slavia will take on Feyenoord Rotterdam and will play the quarter-finals of the European competition again after one year. Which positions are still in contention for the starting line-up ahead of the Conference Europa League match?
Thursday at 6:45 p.m., it’ll go off. Slavia will take on Feyenoord Rotterdam and will play the quarter-finals of the European competition again after one year. Which positions are still in contention for the starting line-up ahead of the Conference Europa League match?
Left back
The left-back position is cursed for Slavia. Jan Bořil is injured, David Jurásek is out of the roster and Srdjan Plavšič is out due to a red card penalty from the Linz game. In addition, Oscar Dorley had to be substituted in Sunday’s game against Plzeň after a collision with Aiham Ousou.
Despite negative forecasts immediately after the end of the game, Oscar flew with the team to the Netherlands, but if he doesn’t get right, who will start on the left? In that case, a five-man defence with Peter Olayinka or Ivan Schranz at wing-back is suggested.
Goalkeeper
Who would have thought two months ago that Ondrej Kolar would still be fighting for the number one spot this season. Ales Mandous had a solid start to the spring, but he faltered a few times in March and Kolar started to get playing time.
Currently there are two variants of the approach of the Slavia management. Either Kolář is definitely the number one, or the long-time mainstay of the Susians will catch in the league, where the team needs a personality and a leader in goal and Mandous will focus only on the European scene.
The second stopper
A big complication for Jindřich Trpišovský is the exclusion of Ousou in the rematch with Linz. The Swedish stopper will miss the away game. In all likelihood, Tomas Holeš will have to play alongside Taras Kacharaba again.
The option with Ondrej Kudel is out of the question, given Feyenoord’s fast football, and Trpišovský puts Maksym Talovjerov primarily in the midfield, where he will probably start this time as well.
