Marcus Thuram on his way out of Mönchengladbach? According to the Italian media, this is almost a sure thing, with the Borussia spearhead striker now choosing between the two main candidates to win his services. AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain are very interested in him.
Marcus Thuram is expected to head out of the Bundesliga according to the latest reports. The Borussia Mönchengladbach striker is wanted by two European clubs – AC Milan and Paris Saint-Germain.
The 25-year-old Frenchman has decided not to renew his contract with the German club, which expires at the end of June this year.
He will leave Mönchengladbach as a free agent. Thuram himself will have to decide in the coming weeks whether he wants to be the central figure in a long-term project or accept a lucrative contract at PSG.
It was the former alternative that coach Stefano Pioli offered him in a personal phone call, as confirmed by Italian journalist Daniele Longo on Calciomercato.
The management of the Parisian club is offering Thuram a contract that would earn him seven million euros a year.
For AC, the acquisition of the French playmaker would almost literally rip the thorn out of their side. Coach Pioli has no competitive replacement for Olivier Giroud. However, if Kylian Mbappé does indeed leave PSG, Thuram will get a chance in the starting lineup and in a PSG jersey.
Thuram at Mönchengladbach
The France international transferred to Borussia in July 2019 when the German club snapped him up from Guingamp. At the time, the Mönchengladbach management sent just nine million euros to the French outfit.
Over the past few years, his price tag has obviously gone up. Currently, Thuram’s market value stands at €32 million, according to the Transfermarkt website.
In that time in a Borussia Mönchengladbach jersey, he has appeared in 134 competitive matches, scoring 44 goals and assisting a further 29.
