A Brazilian from Real or an expensive Arsenal transfer. Players from whom more is expected in the new season

The best leagues in the world have completed the opening six rounds, and the first round of the Champions League group stages has already been played. During these matches, the fan’s eye couldn’t help but notice players like Bellingham and Mbappé, but on the other hand, no one could help but notice the players who didn’t have a good start to the season.

Ben Chilwell

The Chelsea-like left-back is not experiencing an ideal start to the new season. Chilwell is 26 years old and given the age composition of the team, he is one of the most experienced players. The full season opener in the first round against Liverpool wasn’t that bad yet, the Englishman even notched an assist on Disasi’s goal, but his performance went downhill at a brisk pace.

Even head coach Mauricio Pochettinho noticed the drop in performance and sat Chilwell down. Against Bournemouth and Aston Villa, Levi Colwill, a product of the London club, started on the left edge of defence. Chilwell played only 10 minutes against the former, against the latter he was a bit better, but even 29 minutes is not the portion the English defender would have hoped for.

Ousmane Dembélé

The French winger transferred to PSG in the summer for 50 million euros, where he was expected to be productive above all. However, he scored his first point in the last game he played against Marseille in a 4-0 win. If we take into account the fact that Dembélé is beautiful to watch, he dares even against the odds, he really gives opponents trouble, so far we can’t rate him as a big flop.

The problem, however, is that you expect far more productivity from a player you pay €50 million for, especially in a team like PSG, who have almost no competition in Ligue 1. Moreover, the Frenchman is complemented in attack by his compatriot, Kylian Mbappé, without whom the team floundered in the early part of the season. If Dembélé’s health holds out, he should certainly improve his productivity and be even more valid for his team.

Kai Havertz

The German striker swapped the blue part of London for the red one in the summer. He was rescued by Mikel Arteta, for whom Havertz fits into the tactical plans. Although we can say that he is just getting to know his new teammates, he still hasn’t scored a single point. Yes, the Odegaard, Saka pairing won’t let him take penalties or direct kicks, but even so, it’s not just Arsenal fans who expected more.

The question is whether we really expected anything else. Last season, he scored 9 goals in 47 games played, playing as a top striker, often scoring and scoring chances. This season could be a turning point for him in both good and bad ways.

He may convince everyone that he is capable of scoring goals or he may just convince everyone what a problem he has with productivity. Right now he is fulfilling the worse part, but he still has almost a full season to convince us otherwise.

Rodrygo

The last player to be highlighted is Brazilian striker Rodrygo. After Karim Benzema’s departure, he is supposed to be Real Madrid’s main attacking force along with Vinicius. Perhaps this is the moment that moved his confidence, as he has been stuck in the end in recent games.

Real’s top scorer so far this season is Jude Bellingham, an offensive midfielder. Far more assists or goals are expected from Rodrigo. Vinicius, after a long layoff due to injury, will start the match on Wednesday against Las Palmas, probably renewing the Brazilian’s collaboration in the White Ballet’s attack. Fans are expecting Rodrygo’s performance to increase with the return of their biggest attacking threat, if that doesn’t happen he could be relegated to the bench.
