A bounced knee at the beginning of the end! The rising UFC star flashed an awesome first round finish. This is how Aliskerov destroyed the Brazilian
On Saturday night, the UFC visited Abu Dhabi and the fight card was tailored accordingly. One of the biggest prospects on it was to be Ikram Aliskerov, who faced veteran Warlley Alves. However, he didn’t want to waste any time in the cage with him and went for a quick finish.

UFC 294 promised to be an interesting spectacle. The prelims card offered only two early finishes, but even Czechoslovakian fans had something to look forward to. For example, former Octagon fighter Javid Basharat went into action.
Then there was Sedriques Dumas, who at least put the brakes on Matej Peñaz’s dreams of a UFC stint on Dana White’s Contender Series. However, the main card was a different cup of coffee.
The first two fights were over very quickly. Ikram Aliskerov in particular, however, was asking for a lot of attention. He’s used to winning, however, he faced a seasoned veteran who measured his strength against stars like Kamaru Usman and Colby Covington, whom he even defeated in 2015.
In addition, prior to this bout, the star Khamzat Chimaev stated that Aliskerov was the toughest opponent he had fought so far. And it is Chimaev who has been the 27-year-old Russian fighter’s only defeat so far.
Aliskerov delivered a terrific finish
Warlley Alves, however, is no Khamzat Chimaev, even though he’s had some big fights. He’s probably past his peak, as evidenced by the fact that he’s now notched his third loss in a row and has an overall record of 8-7 in the UFC, with five losses in his last seven fights.
Ikram Aliskerov, on the other hand, has only had one fight in the UFC. He finished Phil Hawes in May, however Alves was supposed to be a tougher bite. Too much hasn’t panned out, though. In fact, at 2:07 of the first round, it was over.
First the Russian landed a hard jab that put the Brazilian on his ass, and then the demolition followed. Alves got to his feet quickly, only for Aliskerov to land a great jumping knee that found its mark, and you could see in his eyes that his opponent was shaken.
A flurry of punches followed and the referee had no choice but to stop the fight. Rightly so. Aliskerov thus notched his fifteenth win and asked for an opponent through whom he could move into the UFC rankings, ideally into the top ten of the middleweight division.
