One of the biggest transfer sagas of this les is coming to an end. Bayern Munich have managed to agree a transfer fee with Tottenham and Harry Kane now has his future in his own hands.

Harry Kane has only one year left on his contract. Bayern Munich have been interested in him all summer and after a year without Robert Lewandowski, they have come to the conclusion that it is not so easy to succeed at international level without a top striker.

But Tottenham resisted all sorts of offers for a long time. There have even been disputes between the chairman and the club’s owner. While Daniel Levy wanted to keep Kane at all costs, Joe Lewis didn’t want to take any risks and was more in favour of selling.

The English striker himself wanted clarity before the start of the new Premier League season. It starts on Friday, with Tottenham opening the first round on Sunday at Brentford. Bayern have therefore come under pressure.

It was already looking like Kane might not be inclined to leave, however, around lunchtime on Thursday, media outlets such as The Athletic and Sky Sports came up with a breakthrough. Tottenham have accepted an offer from Bayern.

The Bavarian giant has offered more than 100 million euros. Now everything depends only on how Kane himself decides. However, it can be expected that he is more likely to leave London and head for a new challenge and a chance to win trophies.

If the transfer goes through, it will be a record transfer for Bayern. Whether Tottenham’s record-breaking sale will also be broken is not yet certain, as the specific numbers are not yet known.

By leaving, Kane would be giving up the chance of breaking the historical record at least for a while. Alan Shearer is the top scorer in Premier League history with 260 goals. Kane has 213 in the English top flight.

The top scorer in Tottenham or England national team history has played 435 competitive games for Spurs with a record of 280 goals and 64 assists.
