Just a few days ago, Charles Oliveira confirmed that he is one of the best fighters on the planet, not only at the moment. He definitely deserves a chance to fight for his lost title. However, he himself admits that he is willing to accept other challenges.

Beneil Dariush should have been a big and interesting test, he was even a slight favourite with a good percentage of bookmakers, but Charles Oliveira showed his class. He managed to stop the American in the first round.

Admittedly, he can’t boast of having zero defeats on his record. But he makes up for it all with his attractive fighting style. He takes any challenge, he goes all out, he’s a huge likeable guy who can’t be denied success. He’s rightfully considered one of the best fighters in lightweight history.

Countless fans even rank him ahead of Khabib Nurmagomedov. Especially after he scored his 20th UFC finish, setting a unique record in the history of the organization, these discussions have been in full swing again.

What’s next? That’s the question. Oliveira would deserve a title fight, one still held by his conqueror Islam Makhachev. He himself, of course, likes the idea very much. But it doesn’t have to be at any price.

“Anything can be arranged. For example, Dustin Poirier turned down a title fight to fight Conor McGregor, which made him a lot of money. He also made it clear that if he won, he wanted to go for the title. I could go the same way,” he expressed to Brazilian site UOL.

Oliveira even hinted that it’s not a problem for him to fight for a title in another weight class. After all, he has fought tough featherweight battles in the past, and he also fought at welterweight early in his career.

In particular, Oliveira has been mentioning a return to featherweight for quite some time. But there’s a catch. On four occasions in the UFC within that particular division, he failed to make the weight limit before a fight.

“But we can talk about anything. I’m here, my team and I are ready to sit down and make what’s best for our team, for the UFC and for the fans,” Oliveira concluded the topic.
