Barcelona won the second leg of the Champions League, beating Young Boys Bern 5-0 at home. The game was decided at the end of the first half and after the change of sides, the match was only played out.

  • Barcelona get first points in this year’s LM
  • Robert Lewandowski scores twice
  • Bern are still without a point after two rounds

Lamine Yamal had the first chance in the fourth minute, but the goalkeeper handled it with ease. In the eighth minute, the home team celebrated, with Robert Lewandowski finishing into an empty net.

Joel Monteiro was the first to make an appearance for the visitors, but his shot was inaccurate and did not scare the Barcelona defence. Then the favourite threatened twice again, but neither Jules Koundé nor Ferran Torres were successful with their attempts.

In the 34th minute, the stands were already celebrating when winger Raphinha scored after an assist. And three minutes later, it was all over. Center back Inigo Martinez found the ball and sent it into the net with his head.

At the end of the first half, Torres threw away another decent chance, but Barca still led 3-0 at half time. And after the change of sides, it was more of the same, with Lewandowski adding his second of the game after six minutes.

The visitors’ big chance came to nothing in the 66th minute when Joel Monteiro sent the ball just wide. At the same time, Hansi Flick rotated his squad in the second half, sending several youngsters on to the field.

And they too helped Mohamed Camara to score an own goal in the 81st minute. At the very end, Bern’s goal was disallowed for offside and the Swiss went home from Catalonia with a heavy 0:5 defeat.

Barcelona thus gained their first points in the Champions League table. However, the Young Boys are still without a single point after two games.
