Leverkusen managed their second match in this year’s Champions League in an excellent manner. Victor Boniface, a direct competitor of Czech striker Patrik Schick, decided to win against AC Milan. The Czechs from Bayer’s roster did not enter the match at all.

The Italian team got into their stride and another shot was taken. But Youssouf Fofana just missed. After these chances, the game calmed down and the fight for the midfield was on.

Jeremie Frimpong had a huge chance with ten minutes left in the game. The Dutchman was brilliantly challenged by Wirtz but the 23-year-old winger shot high over. Subsequently, on the other side, substitute Morata went down in the penalty area, but again no penalty kick was awarded.

Theo Hernández had the best chance to equalise in the 83rd minute, but only hit the crossbar from the edge of the area. Morata, who finished at point blank range, did not get the ball past Hradecky. Leverkusen thus secured three points in the Champions League table.
