West Ham coach Julen Lopetegui tried to find some positives despite the 5-1 debacle at Liverpool. Moreover, after the shameful loss in the League Cup, he recalled that his charges got one goal from a clear offside.

Egyptian wizard Mohamed Salah increased the score to 3-1 in the 74th minute and the end of the game then belonged to 25-year-old Gakpa. The PSV Eindhoven graduate added two more goals to complete the rout of the Hammers, who were already down to ten men at the time after Álvarez was sent off.
