Manchester City have had another successful season and broken their record. Although Pep Guardiola and his team were unable to repeat the historic season in which his charges won the treble, the Citizens nevertheless reigned over the Premier League for the fourth time in a row, something no other team in the history of English football has ever managed before.

After eight years in England, he has nothing left to prove. He’s won everything he can. He’s still improving his team’s game. He’s still developing himself. That’s why there’s been more and more speculation lately about whether he’s heading for another challenge.

According to the British media, Guardiola is coaching in the Premier League for one more season. He could leave the Etihad Stadium after nine years in the summer of 2025. Indeed, he has admitted himself that he is closer to leaving than staying. And what’s next? That’s the question, but there are a few possibilities. One of them has been voiced out loud by a surprising tennis star, and right in front of a phenomenal strategist.

Pep Guardiola has received unexpected requests

The former Bayern Munich or Barcelona coach visited Wimbledon tennis when he was on his day off. Specifically, he came to see Alexander Zverev, the world number four, play Cameron Norrie. The German player confirmed his role as the favourite, beating the Briton in three sets in two and a half hours.

Moreover, Zverev noticed that Guardiola was in the stands, which he addressed in a post-match interview right on the court. In the first row he paid tribute to the coaching legend, in the second row he came up with interesting requests.

“We have many great guests here, for me for example the legendary coach Pep Guardiola. When I saw him, I got very nervous. Thank you for coming, it’s a great honour for me,” Zverevlet out.

“But one last thing. Bayern Munich needs a coach. And when you’re done with football, you can coach me in tennis anytime,” added the German tennis player.

If Guardiola did indeed return to Bayern, it would be spectacular. He would be motivated. He didn’t win the Champions League with the team, which I’m sure he would have liked. However, it is more likely that he will go for another challenge. Especially when Munich have a new coach in the form of the young and talented Vincent Kompany.
