Transfers across all European teams are in full swing. Fans are eagerly watching the speculation and waiting to see which player will be snapped up by the management of their favourite team. A real shaky transfer happened in Turkey, where Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi moved between the giants.
He started his rich football career in Belgium. He played a total of 120 games in the colours of Standard Liege, in which he scored forty-four goals. In 2014, he set off for his first foreign engagement when he signed for French side Olympique Marseille.
During his two-year stint in France, he netted thirty-three goals to which he added ten assists. His potential was noticed by the management of Chelsea London and a transfer was made in 2016.
While he scored goals in England, he gradually fell out of favour with his teammates’ good form and dropped out of the lineup and match practice. Thus, in 2018, he went on loan to Borussia Dortmund.
His engagement at the German club worked out well, despite the fact that it was a short guest stint. In fourteen matches, he was among the scorers on nine occasions and again attracted the interest of foreign teams. However, his promising engagement was complicated by an injury in which he tore ligaments in his ankle.
After his return to Chelsea, he did not make it into the squad and so he went on another loan, this time to Valencia. Over the years, he has also worn the jersey of Crystal Palace and Turkish Besiktas.
Surprise transfers
His transfer from London came in 2022, when he agreed to join another Turkish club – Fenerbahce. There, the Belgian international made a name for himself right away in the 2022/2023 season, scoring 12 times in 19 matches. In total, he scored forty-four goals for Fenerbahce.
However, he has decided to take a rather surprising step in his career after his contract has now expired. As a free agent, he accepted the offer of the third Turkish club – Galatasaray. On the pitch and in the stands, he is not expecting a very friendly atmosphere from the opponents and fans.
Financially, however, he does not have to worry too much about the transfer between rivals. He has agreed a three-year contract with the Turkish club, during which he will earn three million euros per season.
At the same time, he will also be paid a bonus that will add another three million euros after three seasons. The club confirmed this on its website.
