Bayern showed their best version of themselves, Real will have a tough game in the return leg. Good result, but I have to improve, Ancelotti knows

Real Madrid’s opening Champions League semi-final match against Bayern is over after they drew 2-2 at Bayern. Both goals were scored by Vinícius Júnior. What did the White Ballet coach Carlo Ancelotti say after the game?
An acceptable result heading into the rematch. At least for Real Madrid, who achieved a 2-2 draw at the Allianz Arena. Vinícius Júnior scored twice against Bayern, first in the 24th minute to open the scoring and then in the 83rd minute with a penalty goal to save Real’s draw.
But it must be admitted that it was Thomas Tuchel’s charges who were the better team, had more of the game and set the pace of the match.
And it was the Munich giant’s coach who ironically said in one of the post-match interviews that Bayern is not the first or the last club to concede two goals from two chances created by Real.
Bayern’s superiority was also acknowledged by Real’s Italian manager Carlo Ancelotti after the eight-final match. He described the 2-2 draw as a good result given the less than ideal performance of his team.
Bayern showed their best version, Ancelotti believes
“The result is good, but we could have done much better. Bayern are very dangerous and they showed their best version in this match. We have to improve for next week,” said Ancelotti after the game, quoted by Football España.
“We didn’t defend with such intensity in the first half. Then when Bayern took the lead in the second half, we started to attack more, but not enough. I felt we were playing comfortably but without intensity. We gave Bayern too many chances to control the game,” said the Italian strategist.
So Real have a lot to work on for the return leg. The second semifinal is scheduled to be played on Wednesday night, with Borussia Dortmund welcoming Paris Saint-Germain to their stadium. And if it too records a playable result heading into the rematch, the hope of a German final or Der Klassiker in the Champions League final is still alive.
