What the Premier League is all about: Arsenal enter the death knell of the season, after failing last year
Every round of the Premier League offers a number of topics to tackle, one extra came on Monday night when Everton were deducted two more points for breaching financial fair-play. It is the Toffees, alongside Arsenal, that we will be covering in our regular weekly column.

Liverpool stumbled at Old Trafford, and after a 2-2 draw, Arsenal head to the top spot, having robbed Brighton by winning 3-0. They top the table a point ahead of Liverpool, with third placed Manchester City one point behind and with the worst goal difference of the three.
Ready for Arsenal this year?
Last year the Gunners lost momentum late in the season and Manchester City went for the title quite easily. The big challenge starts for Arsenal on Tuesday when they welcome Bayern Munich at home in the Champions League, then the series of opponents is ruthless.
Bayern are followed by Aston Villa at home at the weekend, Bayern again, this time in Germany, and a nasty game at Wolves at the weekend. The English week series continues with a home battle in the London derby against Chelsea.
Next weekend follows an even tougher London derby on Tottenham soil. Should the Gunners make it through to the Champions League semi-finals, it will be two more games. In any case, Arsenal will play the final three rounds of the Premier League against Bournemouth, Manchester United and Everton.
Arsenal have extra experience this year thanks to Kai Havertz and Declan Rice, plus William Saliba is healthy unlike last year. Either way, the Gunners rotation hasn’t been much to their liking this season either, we’ll see…
Everton face a tough slog at the end of the Premier League season
Everton once again have just a two-point lead on the relegation places, admittedly with a game to spare. Even so, it still has a derby with Liverpool, a game with Chelsea and Arsenal in the last round. And maybe a game like that at Luton, that will be a nasty battle too.
Sean Dyche may be a champion saviour, but on the other hand the defence is currently held up only by the great Jarrad Branthwaite. The strikers have been tragic all season, the Toffees are not playing likeable, Everton don’t even have many fans in England compared to other teams.
