Bradley Beal scored a season-high against his former team
In the game Washington Wizards vs Phoenix Suns (112:140) the visiting team from Phoenix clearly dominated. Highly motivated in this game was Bradley Beal, who had spent his entire NBA career to date before being traded to Phoenix.
He spent 11 full seasons with the Wizards and scored 15,391 points in 695 games. Beal broke out for his best performance of the season in his return to his former stomping grounds. He put 43 points on Washington’s basket, contributed four threes in five attempts and had an otherwise very accurate shot from the field. Of his 21 shot attempts, 16 ended up in the basket.
Beal could even think about breaking the 50-point mark. But with about 9 minutes left in the game, he was pulled off the floor due to Phoenix’s sizable lead. Still, the 16th best active scorer gave a great performance. Beal played the entire game in a protective mask after breaking his nose last week.
Phoenix’s star trio of Devin Booker, Kevin Durant and Bradley Beal is already coming into full effect and will be a very dangerous team in the playoffs along with a hyped up Los Angeles Clippers team. Durant and Booker, due to Beal’s big lead and shooting potential, have been sparing themselves on the boards, scoring a combined 32 points.
Oklahoma City came up short on their home floor
In the game Oklahoma Thunder vs Toronto Raptors (135:127), the fans saw a resolution after two overtimes. It should be noted that the Raptors team defied Oklahoma for an unexpectedly long time. The latter had to work hard for its 35th victory.
Oklahoma’s star scorer Shai-Gilgeous Alexander scored only 23 points this time. However, he spent over 47 minutes on the floor, and that resulted in him even attacking the triple-double line. He missed that mark by just one rebound, as he recorded an uncharacteristic 14 assists for his teammates.
Toronto had six players in double figures on their side, led by R.J. Barrett with 23 points. However, the Thunder decided the game in the second overtime, which they dominated 17-9. So after a very combative performance, the Raptors had to bow out and notched their 32nd loss of the season.
