Did Medvedev give the audience a raised middle finger? Judge for yourself whether the Russian used a vulgar gesture
Things don’t always work out the way an athlete wants them to. Daniil Medvedev knows this. Wednesday’s match against Bulgarian Dimitrov ended in defeat for him. Moreover, he didn’t enjoy the crowd’s favour too much. Did he say goodbye with a vulgar gesture? How does he feel about the situation?

Daniil Medvedev is a world number three. Last week he proved his tennis qualities when he fought his way to the final in Vienna. He lost against Sinner and did not defend his triumph last year.
He took the defeat in his stride, saying that defending is not his discipline. The twenty-seven-year-old tennis player showed a little more poise in his opening match at the Paris Masters.
The Paris problem with Medvedev
In the match against Bulgarian Dimitrov, everything was pretty much normal. Until 5:5 in the second set.
After throwing his racket, the Russian player received boos from the Parisian crowd. A similar situation repeated itself, at one point the world number three even refused to start the game because of the noise from the audience.
In the end, Medvedev lost the match with Dimitrov 3:6, 7:6, 6:7 and thus bid farewell to the tournament. When leaving the court, an incriminating situation ensued.
The Russian tennis player has a different opinion than the fans on the day. They are sure that the Russian made a not very polite gesture. Judge for yourself.
Finally, let’s see how Medvedev himself feels about everything. He stresses that there was nothing wrong behind the situation. Supposedly, he was just looking at his fingernails.
