Manchester United have sorted things out internally with Rashford. The model boy’s misstep points to huge problems within the club

Marcus Rashford has been a model footballer for a long time, a role model for everyone to take example from. But it is as if the impasse at Manchester United is choking his career. However, the club has resolved everything internally and considers the matter closed.

The problems of English footballers are no exception. Mason Greenwood, Phil Foden, Harry Maguire and several others have filled the headlines more than enough in recent years. Rashford, however, has stayed on the sidelines and fully committed himself to his career as a professional sportsman.

In addition, the skilful winger has been involved in charity work to help those in need. He is very close to fashion and games. But always with the utmost honesty.

Last season, the 26-year-old speedster recorded great statistics, scoring 30 goals and adding 11 assists in 56 games. He was unstoppable and everyone was excited to see what he would do with the Red Devils next season.

The gradual decline of Manchester United and the others

Manchester United, instead of building on the great results of the previous season, is falling deeper and deeper. It is no longer, even in terms of squad value, among the top 4. It is currently in 6th place behind Tottenham.

The position in the table is even worse. 32 points are enough for only 8th place. In terms of scoring stats, the Red Devils are the only team in the top 10 with a negative record (-5 goals). In addition, the club’s management has had to deal with various problems with several players since the beginning of the season.

They are now joined by the hitherto exemplary Rashford, who excused himself from training before Sunday’s game against Newport due to illness. However, reports subsequently emerged in the media of the England winger enjoying himself at a nightclub.

We have already presented the Manchester United offspring’s stats from last season, so what are the current ones? In 26 matches he scored only 4 goals. In the whole of last season Rashford saw only 2 yellow cards, this season he now has 2 as well, but on top of that he has a red card.

But rather than a failure of an individual, it looks like a failure of the whole. No one can hold the reins tightly at Manchester United, not even Eric the Hag, who is on the surface saying he has everything under control. Sadly, that is not the case at all and the club looks more desperate than after Sir Alex Ferguson left.

On the pitch it looks like the old pattern then – let’s go out there and get it over with, preferably then the whole season. A new owner has arrived at Old Trafford and there will undoubtedly be big changes this summer. However, there is still plenty of time before then.

So we’ll see if the Rashford incident was the last negative transgression this year. But it all goes hand in hand with the general mood at the club.
