Guardiola was asked a tricky question when accepting the trophy for Coach of the Year. F**k, the Manchester City coach responded
Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola was quite clearly and unsurprisingly named FIFA’s The Best Coach of the Year at the FIFA awards. However, when accepting the trophy, he was asked a question that probably threw him off for a moment. Needless to say, the Spanish strategist also responded to it very humorously.

Did anyone expect anyone else? Manchester City coach Pep Guardiola was named coach of the year at the FIFA The Best awards. The Spanish strategist came top of the voting with 28 points, ahead of Luciano Spalletti and Simone Inzaghi.
The Italian duo received only 18 and 11 votes respectively in the voting. The former Napoli coach therefore lost ten points to the winner Guardiola. In 2023, Guardiola has undoubtedly cemented his status as one of the best coaches in football history to date.
Moreover, he became the first coach to win the treble twice – that is, the league title, the domestic cup and, last but not least, the Champions League. The first time this Spanish strategist won three major trophies was in the 2008/09 season with Barcelona.
This is the second time in history that six players from the same club have been included in the world’s best men’s eleven. In this case, of course, it is Manchester City. The first time this happened at an awards ceremony was in 2009, when six Barcelona players received a similar honour.
Then, when accepting the award, coach Guardiola was asked which of his teams would win in a friendly match. Barcelona from the 2008/09 season or Manchester City from last year. And the Spanish strategist’s reaction? ” F**k”, or “a f**k”.
Guardiola on a possible winner…
“Well, it would certainly be a great game and it would depend on who was coaching… No, I don’t know, both teams were incredible. Honestly, the period I spent in Barcelona was unreal, we were very young.
But even this English team playing Premier League every season is really strong and competitive for many competitions. To wakeup in the morning and be with this team, not to compete and win, but just to be with it is the biggest prize I could get as a manager,” Guardiola said on stage.
