The nightmare is over! Manchester United loses a promising star whose development was severely hampered by Erik ten Hag
He was going to be a big star. Manchester United were bringing him in for big money. But he didn’t fulfil his potential at Old Trafford. Not least because of a pointless dispute with coach Erik ten Hag, which put a big damper on his development. Now Jadon Sancho should return to where he shone.
He was going to be a big star. Manchester United were bringing him in for big money. But he didn’t fulfil his potential at Old Trafford. Not least because of a pointless dispute with coach Erik ten Hag, which put a big damper on his development. Now Jadon Sancho should return to where he shone.
Not long ago, Jadon Sancho was one of the world’s greatest talents. As a teenager, he absolutely conquered the Bundesliga turf. He shone in a Borussia Dortmund jersey. He scored goals, picked up assists and entertained the fans with his almost street style.
He was an absolute joy to watch. In England, the excitement was overwhelming. Finally, an Englishman who could win the Ballon d’Or in the future, rank among the best footballers on the planet. Manchester United were buying him in 2021 with that in mind.
The Old Trafford club did not even hesitate to pay 85 million euros for Sancho. But this sum will probably never be paid by the skilful winger with his performances. In the first two seasons he had some signs, but he did not live up to expectations.
His style of play didn’t suit him, maybe the Premier League itself didn’t suit him at all. But what is certain is that the coach, Erik ten Hag, didn’t suit him. He had a falling out with him this season when he publicly defended himself against accusations that he was not committed enough in training.
He’s been an outlaw ever since. Manchester United don’t train him, even banned him from using club facilities and the player can’t even train individually. Until he apologises. He’s clearly not going to do that. So a loan deal in his homeland has become a nightmare. Soon, however, there may be deliverance.
Manchester United will let Sancho go to Dortmund
While Manchester United no longer want the services of the English winger, Borussia Dortmund understandably do. After all, the Westphalian club do not forget players who have done a lot of work for the club.
Jadon Sancho will probably return to the Bundesliga. According to Fabrizio Romano, the only thing left to do is to wait until he gets the green light to travel to Borussia’s training camp. A hosting deal for the still only 23-year-old talent is imminent.
It is worth mentioning that Sancho has played 137 competitive games for Dortmund with a record of 50 goals and 64 assists. At Manchester United his numbers are much worse, in 82 matches he scored 12 goals and notched 6 assists per goal, however, at Old Trafford he was also not a key player and his workload was not that great.
