Mistake or intention? Napoli went home without their coach after losing in Rome, he had to return by taxi on his own

After a great euphoria, a hard return to reality. Last season, Napoli shone, won the Italian league and their football entertained. Over the summer, however, there were several changes from which the club is still recovering. And the atmosphere at the Partenopei is not exactly good.

A championship hangover? Quite possibly. Napoli dominated Italy last season, and did well in Europe, but now it’s a different story. They will play in the Champions League again in the spring, but they have to fight to play in Europe next season in Serie A.

The Partenopei, with the exception of stopper Kim, have lost essentially no major star, but the departure of coach Luciano Spalletti, who took over the Italian national team, has certainly done a lot.

The much-criticized Rudi Garcia took over the team and many experts predicted that it would not be the happiest move. This was unfortunately confirmed and in November there was another change. After Garcia, Walter Mazzarri took over the team, the man who led the team to victory in the Italian Cup in 2012.

He never followed up his successful four-year stint at the Partenopei with another. His return was more for practical reasons. He agreed to terms that suit the club. He will stay with the team until the summer at the most.

For now, however, his return does not seem like the right move. The reason is simple. The results are not there, the game is not there. After all, five losses and three wins in eight games says it all.

Does Napoli have to resolve disputes in the cabinet?

Napoli’s last game was on 23 December in Rome against AS. The game was quite heated from the start, with a lot of yellow cards (11) and a lot of fouls. However, the team from under Vesuvius did not manage to win the match and lost.

AS Rome, on the other hand, could celebrate a 2: 0 win and José Mourinho enjoyed it. Walter Mazzarri, on the other hand, had many reasons to be concerned. For example, two red cards for his charges.

Moreover, there was an interesting problem. The club bus with the players left Rome without Mazzarri, who travelled back home by taxi.

According to Football-Italia, initial reports suggested that it was a misunderstanding that created speculation of a dispute in the cabin. However, according to the latest reports, it was a voluntary decision by the Italian coach.

Mazzarri’s decision was supposedly due to personal reasons related to his family. Several media focused on Italian football agree on this information. Negative speculations are therefore dispelled.
